Why Prep Is Everything in a Paint Job

Anyone can roll paint on a wall. What separates a finish that lasts from one that peels in a year is the prep nobody sees: filling nail holes, sanding rough spots, patching drywall, caulking gaps, and priming bare or stained areas so the color goes on even.
